Word study is how children learn what words do and how words are built.
There is not one perfect order. Teach the skill when it shows up in what you are reading or writing.

Don’t rush through nouns, verbs, and adjectives, children tend to mix them up when they are all taught together.
A noun is a person, a place, or a thing.
A verb is a doing word or a being word.
An adjective is a describing word.
Homonyms are words that sounds the same but means something different.
Two words joined together with an apostrophe.
Two little words put together to make one new word.
Antonyms mean the opposite.
Synonyms mean almost the same.
A word part added to the end that changes the word.
A word part added to the beginning that changes the meaning
A common noun is a general name. A proper noun is a special name and starts with a capital.
