3.Sentence Foundations Punctuation Marks

There are 3 main punctuation marks we use at the end of sentences. They are called a period, a question mark, and an exclamation mark.

Teachable Moment:

  • demonstrate what each looks like.

  • practice, show me a question mark, show me an exclamation point, show me a period

  • explain exclamation points are used to show strong feelings, like HELP! or SURPRIZE!

  • question marks follow after a question

  • a period is the one most often use
